Role and Responsibility of the Doula
As a postnatal doula, I - Rebecca Spaven Postnatal Doula - shall endeavour to help, support and be present with my clients and give as much practical, emotional and informative support and help as possible. Support and help is limited to the knowledge brought with me as a doula to facilitate a successful transition into parenthood.
Responsibility of the Client
In consideration of me providing the aforesaid help, support and presence during the booked period, the client will pay as follows:
Deposit of 25% required on receipt of written agreement.
£15 per hour plus £0.45 per mile travel cost, per session. (or package details plus travel cost)
Parking: as necessary
Terms and Conditions
Fees are to be paid in advance in full or on a weekly basis by either cash or bank transfer, with renegotiation every 2 weeks.
Payment is required on a Friday and within 48 hours of the session to be worked, or a late charge of £40 will be incurred.
The client will be invoiced monthly for any other expenses that I have incurred during that calendar month, for example, shopping for the client, travel costs, parking costs etc.
The client will give 14 days’ notice for cancellation of a session booked or full fee must be paid.
The client will give 14 days’ notice to terminate the agreement in its entirety.
I will be responsible for accounting and for paying any income tax and national insurance contributions payable on the above amounts.
If I terminate the agreement, I will give two weeks’ notice and will provide the service during that period.
I will attempt to find a suitable replacement should I leave or be ill and be unable to fulfil the agreed agreement or the two-week notice period. If this is impossible, I will refund the session cost.
7 days’ notice is required for booking additional session, as per the my availability.
As a Doula with Doula UK, I shall abide by their Philosophy and Code of Conduct. Any personal information the client discusses with the doula will be held in confidence, unless the client, their partner or their children are at risk.
i have appropriate insurance to cover my work and always take the greatest precautions to avoid injury or risk to the client or their children. If I feel that a task or action may compromise the safety of the client or their children, I will use their right to decline undertaking it.
I cannot be held responsible for the actions of others beyond my control.
